Assisting with the management of the local natural reserve at Connah's Quay Power Station.
One of the mitigation measures to build the Power Station was the creation of a natural reserve to receive the numerous migratory birds stopping their journey along the Dee Estuary. The site is an area protected by British, European and International legislations. It is a SSSI (Site of Special Scientifique Interest), as well as a SPA (Special Protection Area) and a Ramsar site. Further an application has been submitted to the European Commission for the site to become a SAC (Special Area of Conservation).
